Where we test

We are based in Encino and most of our work is in the San Fernando Valley, with jobs across the rest of LA County every week. The closer you are to the Valley, the faster we can usually get there.

One code, different permit offices

Title 24 is state law, so the tests and the CHEERS certificates are the same everywhere we work. What changes from place to place is who signs off the permit. Encino, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Woodland Hills and Van Nuys are neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles, so they go through LADBS. Burbank and Glendale are separate cities with their own building departments.

Areas we cover most

EncinoEncino is home base for us, so it is the area we can usually reach the fastest. Sherman OaksSherman Oaks is a few minutes from us, and a lot of our work is there: change-outs in older homes, remodels in the hills, and ADUs behind houses on the flats.. Studio CityStudio City jobs tend to be remodels and additions on older homes, and the testing has to fit around a crew that is already mid-project. Woodland HillsWoodland Hills sits at the hot west end of the Valley, where summer afternoons push air conditioning harder than almost anywhere else in LA. Van NuysVan Nuys is a mix of postwar single-family streets and small apartment buildings, and both show up on our schedule. BurbankBurbank is its own city with its own building department, which is the first thing to know if most of your work is in Los Angeles proper. GlendaleGlendale runs its own building department, separate from Los Angeles.
