Title 24 Part 6 · Field Verification

Title 24 testing and verification

Your Title 24 compliance report lists measures that a third-party rater has to verify in the field. We test them, register them, and send you the certificates your building inspector asks for at final.

Start with the compliance report

The quickest way to know what your job needs is the Title 24 report your energy consultant produced for the permit. Somewhere in it there is a list of measures marked for field verification. That list is what we test against, nothing more and nothing less.

Send it over before you book. We will read it and tell you which tests are on it, whether any of them need a rough visit, and what the visit will cost. If you do not have the report handy, the permit number and the scope of work usually get us most of the way.

Measures we verify

Duct leakage, supply airflow, fan watt draw, refrigerant charge, whole-house mechanical ventilation, kitchen range hood airflow, and Quality Insulation Installation. Under the 2025 code a permit can also call for heat pump charge verification, fault indicator display checks and battery-ready panel verification.

Residential, additions and alterations, and light commercial. Each measure gets measured on site with calibrated equipment and the result goes on the certificate as read.

Why the timing matters

Some measures can only be checked while the walls or the attic are still open. QII is the obvious one, and a rough duct test is far cheaper to fix than a failed final. If your job is new construction or a large remodel, call us when the framing is up rather than when the drywall is going on.

How it works

  1. 1Tell us about the job

Address, scope, and where you are in the permit. Two minutes by phone or text.

  2. 2We schedule around your build

Rough and QII while the framing is open, final once the system runs.

  3. 3Testing on site

Calibrated equipment and a straight answer on the spot.

  4. 4Report and registration

Report plus the signed CHEERS certificate, the same day.

Common questions

What is Title 24 field verification?

California requires an independent, certified rater to confirm that certain energy measures in your Title 24 report were actually installed and perform as designed. The inspector will not close the permit without the registered certificates.

Can you tell me which tests my permit needs?

Yes. Send us the Title 24 compliance report or the permit details and we will tell you before booking.

Do you test light commercial buildings?

Yes, alongside residential, across LA County.

Need a test scheduled?

Call or text with the address and where you are in the permit. We will come back with a time and a price.
